SYNOPSIS

High pressure is situated over eastern Europe, and a major low over Iceland and north Atlantic. A weak Aegean Sea cold pool enhances convective activity over Turkey. A weak upper trough over the Iberian Peninsula and associated surface low west of Portugal creates modest (<200 J/kg) but weakly capped CAPE during the afternoon, which should translate into a number of thunderstorms. With also DLS generally below 10 m/s there is little chance of severe by-products.
