A level 1 was issued across western France for isolated tornadoes and severe convective wind gusts.

SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

A North-Atlantic low steers with a western flow a cool maritime unstable airmass into the British Isles and France. Convection will be able to reach colder than -40C tops and will be electrified. CAPE up to 200 J/kg. At 18-21Z, CAPE is maximized over sea at the French coast and shear over 12 m/s (0-1 km) and >25 m/s (0-6 km) supports chances of tornadogenesis, with also wind gusts of 20-25 m/s possible in the southern half of this level 1 area.
