SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

Much of Europe will be under stable condtions in a warm advection regime underneath a large ridge stretching from the western Mediterranean into Ukraine. Isolated thunderstorms are forecast over the parts of Atlantic associated with a short-wave trough crossing Britsh Isles and Portugal during the day. Few thunderstorms may also occur just east of Crete, on the forward flank of the cut-off low centered over the Ionian Sea.
