SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

A long-wave trough has entered the eastern Mediterranean bringing cold air masses over the warmer sea. Instability over the southern Aegean and Levantine Seas is weak and only scattered disorganized storms are expected. A few storms will affect the southern parts of Turkey and West Cyprus will locally high accumulations of rainfall and graupel. A few waterspouts are also expected under the core of trough where winds will be calm.

A few storms may also appear in the Tyrrhenian Sea and north coasts of Tunisia and NE Algeria, where a short-wave trough will get detached from a bigger wave that is now (06/01 20z) crossing the British Isles.
