A level 1 was issued for SE Spain mainly for excessive convective precipitation.

SYNOPSIS

A cut-off upper low lingers over Morocco. An Atlantic high shifts eastward into western Europe. With an easterly flow, moist, unstable air is advected under the cold upper low across the SW Mediterranean Sea. While instability and vertical shear are modest, later during the day the flow increases and lifts moisture into the coastline of southeastern Spain, which could produce isolated persisting storms with high rainfall amounts and possible flash floods.
