SYNOPSIS

The northwesterly flow pattern continues. The southwestern half of Europe remains under the influence of high pressure, while Scandinavia, central and southeastern Europe are affected by low pressure systems. A lee trough south of the Alps develops into a new depression with unstable air with convection developing over mainly the Ionean Sea and eastern Mediterranean. Isolated waterspouts may occur but otherwise no organized severe weather is expected. Several tens of mm rain could fall along southern Greece, Crete and Turkish coastlines.
