SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

Satellite imagery reveals pronounced trough currently moving across N half of Germany towards east. It is forecast to lift NE-wards during the day towards Poland and N Czech Republic. Second short-wave, albeit less prominent, is currently located over W France and will move towards BENELUX. Towards west, a cyclonic vortex will affect the British Isles. In sharp contrast to the previous week, no significant overlap of abundant instability (CAPE) and vertical wind shear is forecast over Europe, which will limit the chances for severe and well organised convection. Thus, we do not introduce any Lvl. Still, isolated to scattered DMC activity is forecast e.g. ahead and along of the cold front over Central Europe, Belarus and over some mountainous areas, such as the Alps, Massif Central or Carpathians. Isolated excessive rainfall event is possible in these areas given rather slow storm motion and marginally large hail can not be ruled out with stronger multicells.
