SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

An extensive high pressure system covers much of Europe with a pronounced intrusion of arctic airmass over the eastern part of the continent. Most of Europe will be under the stable and dry conditions with only two small areas receiving a low prob lightning area, associated with a mid-tropospheric trough stretching from the Atlantic towards the NW Mediterranean Sea.
