SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

Between the extensive high pressure system over Western Europe and a deep low centered over Northern Poland and Belarus, a massive arctic outbreak will begin over much of Central and Eastern Europe behind a fast moving cold front. In strong northerly to northwesterly flow, bands of low topped showers will develop thanks to steep lapse rates, accompanied by gusty winds. Probability of lightning will be quite low given quite dry airmass, except when the front reaches the Adriatic Sea. Low probability of lightning is warranted for a few areas over the Mediterranean, especially near the W coastline of Turkey, where moist airmass will impinge onshore. Very weak latent instability precludes level issuance atm.
