SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

An omega pattern will continue over much of Europe with higher geopotentials covering much of western and central Europe. Towards south, very deep low will be located south of Turkey and a shallow low is forecast to be centered over western Iberia. Strong zonal flow will be concentrated to Scandinavia and adjacent seas. Central Norway, especially the coastal areas may experience severe wind gusts (non-convective) during the day. Conditions will be mostly hostile for deep, moist convection apart from three areas - Norwegian coastline, southwestern Iberia coastline, southern Aegean and south of Turkey. Pronounced severe weather threat is forecast over the extreme eastern Mediterranean, but this area is out of the forecast domain.
