SYNOPSIS

Between low pressure over the Atlantic and over the Ionean Sea, Europe is under a slight high pressure area at the surface level. At higher levels a trough passes central Europe, where slight CAPE will be present. The absence of flow and shear should lead to slow moving short-lived cells. Similar convection can occur in parts of the Balkan and southern Italy. Over Turkey steep lapse rates are present but only slight CAPE by lack of low level moisture. The best combination of instability and 0-6 km shear of 20 m/s will occur at the end of the period between Crete and Turkey, but lacks low-level shear magnitude for tornadoes. Very isolated large hail might occur.
