SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

A large-scale cyclonic vortex over N-Europe steers numerous short waves over N/C Europe. Limited moisture and a cool/cold troposphere keep deep convection confined to the offshore areas of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Sporadic but non-severe thunderstorm activity is forecast.

The Mediterranean area remains capped beneath ongoing ridging and again only sporadic and non-severe thunderstorm activity is anticipated.
