SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

A large omega block pattern continues with a strong high pressure area centered over W Europe. It makes only minor progress towards central Europe on Tuesday. On its eastern flank, a decaying upper trough moves towards Turkey while transforming into the cut-off low. There, marginal instability beneath the cold mid-levels could spark some scattered thunderstorms, but in very poor wind field/shear. So severe storms are unlikely. However, given the favorable LL buoyancy and weak winds, a waterspout or two over SE Mediterranean cannot be excluded along the coastal convergences.
Elsewhere, stable conditions prevail.
