SYNOPSIS DISCUSSION

The main feature on Tuesday will be a building omega-like ridge over west-central Europe. Two upper lows are placed on its western and eastern flank, supporting some convective activity. At surface, a large high pressure area extends across the rest of Europe while the weakening cold front crosses the Balkans.

More dynamics will be places over NNW Europe where frontal zone remains rather stationary during the forecast period, but only some showers and briefly electrified storms might occur there.

However, a convective activity will be relatively low today. It seems that the highest probabilities will lie over northern Marocco/Southern Iberia under the upper low approching from the south. Marginal instability should result beneath the cold mid-levels in moderately sheared environment. Despite good overlapping, rather sparse activity limits the severe potential, so no threat levels have been issued. The storms that manage to form could bring marginal threat for some hail and wind gusts.

Elswhere, only diurnal convective activity is expected, aligned to local topography features. Activity will rapidly diminish towards sunset hours.
