SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

A low pressure system over Scandinavia leads to CAA over the Norwegian Sea and the northern North Sea. Steep lapse rates and some 100 - 200 J/kg CAPE are forecast for the sea region SW of southern Norway. Although mixing ratio should be below 4 g/kg, some lightning may occur with the strongest storms. LL winds reach 15 - 20 m/s and a few gusts around 25 m/s are not ruled out. A few showers and thunderstorm may also develop west of Portugal in moderately warm air.
