SYNOPSIS

A northerly jet is present over central Europe between a high pressure area over the eastern Atlantic and low pressure over central/eastern Europe. A shortwave upper trough digs from southern Scandinavia into Italy, and cold air with low absolute humidity spreads out over central Europe as far west as Benelux and NE France, and as far south as central Italy and Bosnia during this period. There is a slight chance of thunder over the Adriatic Sea at the cold front passage, probably embedded in frontal clouds. CAPE is minimal, but the strong lifting in advance of the mid level vorticity maximum and forced ascent along the front may provide compensation. Behind the cold front WRF models predict Bora winds to pick up.
