DISCUSSION

The cold front crossing western Europe today has yielded a brief tornado in the central Netherlands at the passage of a strongly forced, narrow convective line with radar echo tops of only 5 kilometers. The threat was adequately described in the forecast, but no level was issued because of initial uncertainty about sufficient instability presence.

...Germany...

Currently a convective line developed rapidly over northeastern France after 19Z, and has entered Germany. The strong shear as described in the forecast allows tornadogenesis, and is also more likely as Bonn radar indicates small wavy line segments and notches potentially bearing mesocyclones capable of spawning a tornado.
It is not sure the line will survive long, the radar and satellite hint at weakening, at the moment.

...Ireland...

Another disturbance with unstable air arrives during the night over western Ireland. GFS 12Z indicates a zone of >250 m2/s2 SREH and 0-1 km shear of >12 m/s will be present and supportive of a tornado.
