SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

A high builds over west Europe, while intense upper troughs move eastward over northern Europe. In the range of these troughs, well-mixed and moist maritime air mass will likely be unstable due to rather warm sea surface temperatures and cold mid-levels in the range of the trough axis. Vertical wind shear will be not favoable for organized convection, and expect some thunderstorms capable of producing soft hail and strong wind gusts over the North Sea region.
