SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

Monday at 06:00 UTC... a mid/upper-level low is in the process cutting off off a trough over Scandinavia, before moving southward into central Europe. At the same time a ridge over western Europe expands northward. A cold mid/upper low is located to the southwest of Sardinia and reaches east-central Algeria on Tuesday morning. In the range of this system a number of thunderstorms are possible over the Mediterranean Sea. Over the central and eastern parts of the Mediterranean, a trough initially over northern Libya is expected to aid in the development of thunderstorms as it moves eastnortheastward towards Turkey. Low CAPE and weak shear suggests that the severe weather threat will be low.
