SYNOPSIS

The huge area of high pressure is the prevalent system over most parts of Europe. Quite cold airmass overspreads western Russia and traces of instability are forecast, but too low to expect any electrified convective activity.
A rapidly weakening upper-level low over the Iberian Peninsula moves eastwards and should be responsible for a few thunderstorms over the Strait of Gibraltar.
A tongue of higher PWAT values gets advected northward and incorporated ahead of an approaching upper-level trough just west / southwest of Ireland. Shear increases, but instability over Ireland is slim so no thunderstorms are expected...this area will be monitored if more robust instability release than currently anticipated can be realized.

A few thunderstorms should also develop over the western Mediterranean.
