SYNOPSIS

A wavy upper-air streamline pattern persists over the northern Atlantic and Europe with ridging over western Europe and a broad trough over central / eastern Europe.
A cool and stable airmass overspreads the area of responsibility and hence convective activity should be quite limited. The main area of interest will be the central and eastern Mediterranean, where scattered thunderstorms are forecast.
Stronger signals in the instability fields and somewhat augmented shear signals over western Turkey indicate a low-end chance of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms. Right now we think that gusty winds and marginal hail will be the main threat.

There is a risk of an isolated waterspout development over the central Mediterranean as background-flow stays weak and 0-3km is locally augmented, but risk will be too low for issuing a level-1.

Otherwise no organized thunderstorms are expected.
