SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

Monday at 06:00 UTC... a broad ridge is located over western Europe, downstream of am approaching trough over the eastern North Atlantic and upstream of a low centered near Moscow. Another cold core will remain located over eastern Morocco. The low over Russia is filled with cold air and has relatively steep lapse rates associated with it. In response to solar heating scattered thunderstorms are likely near the system. Low LCL temperatures of around -5 will likely prevent high lightning activity from occurring.
In the range of the Moroccan cold mid/upper low thunderstorms are expected in the Atlas mountains are perhaps across Southeastern Spain. Some storms are possible in the synoptic no-man's-land over the western and central Mediterranean and parts of France.
The absence of vertical wind shear of any importance and low inbstability indicates severe threat should be low.
