SYNOPSIS

Two weak and rather amplified upper troughs travel eastward over Europe east of intense upper long-wave trough over northern Atlantic Ocean. In the wake of the upper troughs, cold air mass spreads southward into western Mediterranean and Aegean, while warm air mass is advected into Italy and Germany as well as into Black Sea region. Underneath both troughs, latest model output suggest weak instability, but vertical wind shear is forecast to be unfavorable for organized convection. Latest soundings indicate that low-level moisture is weak, and strong instability is not expected.
