SYNOPSIS

A strong, westerly flow continues to affect parts of NW Europe.
An open wave will cross France and Germany during the forecast period from the west, but instability signals are very marginal. Main concern for an isolated SFLOC report arises over extreme E-France and W/SW Germany, where topography and slightly unstable LI could be sufficent for a short-lived thunderstorm during the night hours.
The same for Scotland, where a NE-ward shifting upper-level trough will produce a nice wind field, but only traces of instability. This will limit the thunderstorm threat.
Main risk for a more robust thunderstorm threat can be found NE of Scotland, but weak DLS will also limit the severe thunderstorm potential.
