SYNOPSIS

Rather large and amplified long-wave trough over eastern Europe shows a tendency to cut-off into eastern Mediterranean. To the west ... subtropic ridge evades into western Europe ... supported by WAA over southwestern Europe. This airmass is quite stable due to poor low-level moisture. Best moisture should exist over Great Britain, where showers and thunderstorms may develop in a weak-sheared environment. To the east ... most of central, southern, and eastern Europe is affected by cold airmass and weak vertical wind shear in the range of the upper trough. Best chances for a few severe wind gusts and/or marginally severe hail seem to exist over northern Aegean Sea as well as northern Black Sea region ... where some QG forcing may provide thunderstorms near the jet. However ... threat seems to be too low for a risk level ATTM.
