A Mesoscale Discussion (MD) was issued to update the evolving severe risk. Please keep in mind that the MD's validity does not reflect the duration of the severe event, which extends into the evening hours.
This MD just highlights a regional upgrade to a level 2 just W of the ongoing level 2 area. Robust moisture advection to the N combined with temporal heating yields adequate MUCAPE for thunderstorms in a favorably sheared environment for all kind of hazards. Latest radar confirms numerous more discrete cells moving NE and despite a tad weaker DLS/0-3 km shear, thunderstorms should be well organized. LL shear profiles support a tornado threat with ongoing convection and a strong event is possible. This activity moves NE into the already issued level 2 area.
No change for the rest of the outlook.
