SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION
A mid-level long-wave trough is approaching from the west, bringing fresh air masses from the Atlantic ocean and a cut-off low over Central Europe provides favorable conditions for plently, but mostly non-convective, precipitation south and east of Germany. Several troughs can be found over the eastern parts of our domain and a ridge is forming over Central Mediterranean. Some remnants of low geopotentials remain over the Mediterranean Sea and weak instability can provide some short-living thunderstorms.
