An impressive MCS has formed over SE Germany with an embedded supercell. Remote sensing data from radar indicates very large hail with that supercell. In addition excessive precipitatin is occuring with hourly rain amounts between 30 and 50 mm.

Within the next hours the system is moving eastward along the northern flank of the Alpine rim and should become outflow dominante. This is already indicated by doppler wind velocities up to 25 m/s. It is possible that a bowing line develops. Thus severe wind gusts are posible, extreme severe wind gusts 30+ m/s are not excluded.

A bit questionable how the convection in E Austria this afternoon influences the further development of the MCS. It may limit the threat in the later part of this MD.
