SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

Synoptic-scale situation will be dominated by a ridge stretching from the Atlantic towards SW UK, Bay of Biscay and NW Iberia. Towards E, a deep trough will progress across Russia and Ukraine. A separate low, centered over the Tyrrhenian Sea, will move slowly towards the Ionian Sea during the forecast period. Core of the low, thanks to the presence of steep lapse rates, will experience isolated to scattered DMC. Low-topped convection is forecast also across W coastline of Greece in the strongly sheared environment, but forecast hodographs suggest that much of the shear will be confined to the layer about the Equillibrium level. Thus, storms will likely stay poorly organised and no level is introduced atm.
