SYNOPSIS

A blocking high pressure builds up over western Europe. An extensive and sharp cold front moves from the Alpine region over the Balkan, to Italy, Greece and western Turkey. WHile mid level lapse rates ahead of the front are steep, no CAPE of significance is predicted by various models, and EL temperature warmer than -15C preclude electrification.
