A level 1 was issued for parts of the North Atlantic mainly for the severe wind gusts.

SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

Continental Europe and the Mediterranean will stay mostly under dry and stable conditions without any chance for electrified DMC. Over the northern Atlantic, situation will be different as yet another deep low pressure passes just to the north of Scotland towards the Norwegian Sea. Behind the cold front, in the belt of steeper lapse rates, some marginal latent instability will form, with MLCAPE values reaching tens J/kg to around 200 J/kg. With strong background wind field, e.g. 850 hPa flow between 20 to 35 m/s, downdrafts of DMC may positively contribute to the wind gust strength. For this reason, a Lvl 1 is introduced for the severe wind gusts, but is mostly covering marine areas.
