Numerous storms developed near the cold front and surface low over England. Satellite loops reveal potential for further surface heating ahead of the front. As of 12 UTC, moist airmass with dewpoints around 18 deg was observed over the area of interest with southerly to southeasterly surface flow. Furthermore, temperature - dew point depression is really low, up to 3 deg at the moment, suggesting very low LCLs. Storms move into the environment of very strong low-level shear, as suggested by 20 - 25 m/s observations around 2 km height by the profiler data. This suggests that storms, especially if in supercellular mode, may be capable of tornadoes. To the south of indicated area, veering of surface winds decreased the tornado threat considerably.
