SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION
An upper-level ridge and an associated surface high gradually shift from Western to Central Europe. Further downstream, a short wave embedded in the Northerly flow reinforces the pronounced trough over far Eastern Europe and Western Russia.
The only slim chance for convection exists along the cold front of a deepening cyclone whose center moves from Belarus to the Ukraine. In case a shallow convective line forms, marginally severe wind gusts are not ruled out with the cold front passage in the Western Ukraine and in Moldova in the afternoon and evening hours.
