SYNOPSIS

A low pressure area is leaving Europe for Russia. There is a very large scale meander in the flow with a trough extending from Russia to the Middle East with associated cold air advection from Scandinavia to Turkey. A wide high pressure area keeps the southwestern half of Europe stable. The only deep convection should occur over the southeastern Black Sea and north coast of Turkey, where very steep lapse rates are generated. Isolated waterspouts may result. The other area in Europe with storms are the Azores, where an upper cut-off low advects warm unstable air northward.
