SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

A rather complex pattern across Europe, with large area of low geopotentials over E-CNTRL parts where SW flank cuts off into central Mediterranean. An upper disturbance/vortmax over Benelux slowly translates towards S France and fills out. A very deep and intense cyclone forms around Islandia and slowly continues moving E/NE during the forecast period, it will be characterized by intense wind field. A large blocking over northern Europe intensifying and expanding southwards into central Europe and the Balkans with cooler airmass.

However, an only shalow moisture depth and the lack of wind shear preclude any severe storms across Europe today, so only the higher probability areas for storms were hightlighted with 15% probs lightning line.
