SYNOPSIS

Much of Europe is now under quiet conditions as low pressure has moved out of central Europe and even out of the Mediterranean. An Atlantic low affects the British Isles, Benelux, northern Germany and Scandinavia with windy conditions, and the passage of a cold front from Scotland/Ireland to Germany/S Scandinavia during this period. The cold airmass is unstable across the North Sea and adjacent parts of the Atlantic, allowing cellular convection with EL reaching the -40°C level, but moisture content of 3.5 g/kg and MLCAPE around 100 J/kg are rather low and lightning is expected to be quite rare.
