SYOPSIS / DISCUSSION

Blocking pattern persists across much of Europe while slowly decaying upper trough remains centered over Ukraine. A surface high pressure area extends across south and west-central Europe. In between, meridional flow remains in place over central Europe. With an intensifying ridge over SW Europe, an upper low over SW Mediterranean ejects south across Algeria.

Chances for convective activity today are very limited or non-existent, while only some sporadic activity can be found over parts of Mediterranean sea. Cold and stable conditions prevail across much of the continent.
