SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

The upper ridge over the Mediterranean and parts of southwestern Europe remains also on Tuesday. A few thunderstorms should develop over the Mediterranean and also over the N Maghreb States in an environment with low-end instability and less than 10 m/s of deep layer shear. Severe weather is not expected to occur.

Showers and thunderstorms are also possible over the Baltic Sea and S Finland near the upper cold core of a trough over Scandinavia. A few hundred J/kg of CAPE should be present but deep layer shear is below 15 m/s in most places where nonzero CAPE is forecast.
