SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

The two dominant features for convective activity on Monday are an upper low between the Azores and the Canary Islands and another upper low over Greece. Diurnally driven showers and thunderstorms are expected to form in a weakly sheared environment. Severe weather should be unlikely.

Another possible spot for thunderstorms is western Russia as a strong upper trough moves across Scandinavia and W Russia. Shear is somewhat higher in this area but apart from an isolated severe wind gust, severe weather should be unlikely.
