SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

High pressure dominates the western parts of Europe while a broad upper trough over the Ukraine affects eastern Europe. Some marginal instability in combination with rather marginal shear is present over France, central Italy and the Aegean Sea / eastern Mediterranean towards Cyprus and S Turkey. One can't exclude an isolated large hail event, especially in regions with locally enhanced instability, but frequency of severe weather events should stay well below the level 1 threshold.
