SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

A low pressure system near Iceland will lead to unsettled conditions over the North Atlantic, including NW Scandinavia. Severe thunderstorms are not expected as instability and forcing are marginal.

Some convective activity should be expected west of the Iberian Peninsula in the vicinity of an upper cut-off low. Overall shear and SRH are marginal and severe events should be unlikely.

Another upper trough is located over Turkey where some low-end instability may be created by upper level cooling. Deep layer shear should be in order of 10 m/s in most places but some locally enhanced SRH may allow a few organized multicells or supercells which could lead to an isolated hail / tornado event. As the possibility of two or more severe events within the area is rather low, no threat level is issued.
