SYNOPSIS

A low pressure system over Scandinavia and high pressure over the British Isles will advect arctic air towards central Europe. Remnants of another low pressure system will remain over the central Mediterranean. Near the upper cold core of this low, a few hundred J/kg CAPE should be created over the Ionian / Aegean Sea. Deep layer shear is probably less than 15 m/s in most places which reduces the possibility of organized severe convection. An isolated funnel / waterspout cannot be ruled out but rather poor LL lapse rates and low LL CAPE should limit this threat. No significant change is expected until early Tuesday.
