SYNOPSIS

A large low pressure area affects Scandinavia, Baltic region and Belarus with strong winds and snow. High pressure between Iceland and Spain causes Western Europe to remain in a relatively cold northern flow and keeps new depressions at bay for some days. Thunderstorms are found in some places in the Mediterranean Sea, but instability and collocated vertical wind shear are small.
