SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

Ridging builds in over W-Europe with falling geopotential heights to the east. An upper low over the central Mediterranean weakens while drifting slowly to the east.

The boundary layer features low to modest ML mixing ratios with no real focus for a concentrated swath of thunderstorms. Isolated storms may evolve beneath the upper low over the central Mediterranean, but expected coverage does not match any of the thunderstorm probabilties (despite N-Tunisia). A cold thermal low may spark a few storms over Romania but no real hazard is forecast with that diurnal activity. A very isolated storm may also develop over far eastern Germany/far western Poland and N-Czech Republic during the morning hours (10th April) as mid-levels cool down with modest height falls. Again, expected coverage precludes any thunderstorm area.

Otherwise, no deep convection is forecast over Europe.
