SYNOPSIS and DISCUSSION

An omega type situation has evolved over Europe with a ridge covering most of Central Europe and two troughs on its eastern and western flank. A disturbance with dry intrusion at upper levels has formed with the western trough, crossing the Iberian penninsula as of Wednesday 06 UTC. A jet-streak at the base of the disturbance is providing strong QG forcing in its exit region. The base of the eastern trough is a cut off low, centered over Turkey and is expected to stall over the country during the forecast period.

At the surface, a system of high pressure systems is covering most of Europe in the belt from Atlantic to Northeastern Europe. Shallow low is observed over Turkey.

Conditions seem to be too unfavorable for deep moist convection over most of Europe, except for the belt Western Russia - Belarus and extents of Turkey. No level is introduced at the moment as thunderstorms are expected to stay mostly weakly organised and subsevere.
