SYNOPSIS / DISCUSSION

Polar air mass is dominating the European continent. On Monday, this air mass is expected to be deepest over Poland and the Baltic States. With diurnal heating, snow/graupel showers are anticipated over these regions. Though EL temperatures below -20C are simulated, limited hydrometeor contents and the diminutive size of the thunderstorm cells should result in very weak/negligible lightning activity. Hence, no thunderstorm area will be introduced.
Otherwise, no deep convection is anticipated.
