SYNOPSIS

Europe is in a north to northwest flow pattern with a blocking high pressure area over the Atlantic and low pressure over Scandinavia and eastern Europe. In mid levels, a trough extends over Italy and a small upper cutoff low dwells over the Bay of Biscay southward with some convection. A polar low affects the coast of central Norway, with decent CAPE values, but liquid water content will be so low that electrification is limited. Under the strong jetstream over eastern Sicily some marginal instability is predicted, most likely elevated.
