SYNOPSIS

Low pressure around the southern Iberian Peninsula causes unstable conditions with some storms. This area will move into the SW Mediterranean Sea, activating during the night under the influence of low-mid level warm Saharan air advection.
At the same time, a major change of weather pattern occurs over western Europe where high pressure is replaced by a large trough inflated with cold, unstable maritime air. A cold front will enter France during the night. More clustered convection should occur on shortwave troughs affecting Ireland, with isolated thunder possible.
Isolated shower activity under a weak trough can occur over the eastern side of Italy and the southwestern Balkan, but there is too little CAPE for a substantial thunder chance.
