SYNOPSIS

A strong upper cold-core low along the northern periphery of an extensive cyclonic vortex, situated over SW Europe, affects UK, Ireland and extreme NW-France. An high pressure area is present over N-Europe, advecting a cold/stable airmass southwards over E-Europe. A developing depression over the W/central Mediterranean during the end of the forecast period enforces WAA over the eastern Mediterranean. This constellation results in numerous areas where thunderstorms are forecast. Either shear or instability release are too weak for organized thunderstorms, so mainly marginal hail and strong wind gusts accompany those storms.

A somewhat enhanced waterspout risk exists east of Corsica mainly during the late afternoon and evening hours and a few cold air funnels are possible along the W/SW coast of UK and NW-France all day long.
