SYNOPSIS

The polar front jet over the northern Atlantic becomes more active and a speed max evolves south of Greenland, which in fact backs the development of numerous troughs over NW Europe. One of them affects Ireland, Scotland and United Kingdom although thunderstorms are only anticipated over NW Scotland. Another focus for thunderstorms continues over the central Mediterranean in the range of the NE-ward lifting upper-level low but instability and shear stay weak enough for thunderstorms to stay sub-severe.
